Abuse Policy

Last modified: January 19, 2026

This Abuse Policy describes how MangoHost receives, reviews, and processes abuse reports, infringement notices, phishing reports, fraud complaints, and similar notifications concerning resources that may be hosted on infrastructure operated by MangoHost.

1. Scope of Services

MangoHost operates as an infrastructure and network service provider. Depending on the service type, MangoHost may provide IP connectivity, servers, virtual infrastructure, and related hosting services.

MangoHost does not operate as:

  • a domain registrar or domain registry;
  • a DNS provider for third-party domains by default;
  • a CDN provider or reverse proxy provider;
  • a search engine, website publisher, or content editor;
  • a public investigator of third-party domain-to-server attribution.

2. Requirement for Verifiable Hosting Attribution

For MangoHost to assess any abuse report, the report must contain verifiable hosting attribution.

This means the report must include at least one of the following:

  • an origin IP address assigned to MangoHost infrastructure;
  • another concrete technical identifier that allows independent verification of hosting;
  • a legally valid court order or binding request from a competent authority applicable in our jurisdiction.
Reports that contain only a domain name, URL, screenshots, branding allegations, redirect descriptions, IP addresses belonging to third-party reverse proxy, CDN, or traffic intermediary services, or third-party assumptions do not constitute verifiable hosting attribution.

3. Reports That Cannot Be Processed

MangoHost may be unable to process, act on, or respond further to reports that do not contain verifiable hosting attribution.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • reports containing only a domain name or website URL;
  • reports identifying only reverse-proxy / CDN IP addresses;
  • reports based solely on WHOIS lookups, ASN lookups, or automated forwarding notices;
  • reports relying solely on third-party statements or automated notifications regarding hosting attribution without verifiable technical evidence;
  • reports requesting MangoHost to identify the hosting location of a domain hidden behind a third-party reverse proxy;
  • reports requesting MangoHost to search across its network or customer base based solely on domain names or branding claims.

4. No Third-Party Investigation Obligation

MangoHost does not perform internal customer identification, network-wide searches, origin discovery, routing analysis, NetFlow review, customer correlation, or infrastructure attribution on behalf of third parties where no verifiable hosting attribution has been provided.

In particular, MangoHost is not obligated to:

  • request origin IP information from third-party proxy or CDN providers on behalf of a complainant;
  • determine whether a domain hidden behind a reverse proxy is hosted on MangoHost infrastructure based solely on the domain name;
  • disclose internal logs, customer mappings, routing records, abuse records, or backend technical data to private parties;
  • assist complainants in identifying the “actual host” without technical attribution.

5. No Disclosure of Customer or Infrastructure Data

MangoHost does not disclose customer data, server data, routing data, internal logs, infrastructure mappings, reseller information, upstream information, or other non-public technical details to third parties except where required by applicable law or by a valid legal request from a competent authority.

6. Abuse Categories and Handling

6.1 Phishing, Credential Theft, Carding, Malware, or Active Fraud

Where a report contains verifiable hosting attribution and presents credible evidence of phishing, credential theft, card harvesting, malware distribution, or other active fraud, MangoHost may take immediate action in accordance with its Acceptable Usage Policy and internal procedures.

6.2 Trademark, Brand Impersonation, Copyright, and Similar Claims

Trademark and copyright complaints require sufficient technical attribution before MangoHost can determine whether any infrastructure under its control is involved.

Even where a complainant alleges deception, impersonation, or unauthorized brand use, MangoHost is not obligated to disable a domain name or take domain-level action, as MangoHost is not a domain registrar, registry, or DNS authority.

6.3 Domain-Level Requests

Requests to suspend, transfer, disable, or take down a domain name must be directed to the relevant domain registrar, registry, DNS provider, CDN provider, or competent authority, as applicable.

7. Repeat Reports and Follow-Ups

Repeated notices, follow-ups, escalations, or newly created case IDs concerning the same matter do not create new obligations unless they include new verifiable technical attribution or legally binding documentation.

Repeated reports without new technical evidence may not receive further responses.

8. Automated Forwarding Notices

Abuse reports forwarded automatically by third-party service providers, including reverse proxy or CDN operators, do not by themselves establish hosting attribution unless they include an origin IP address or other independently verifiable technical data linking the reported resource to MangoHost infrastructure.

An automated abuse forwarding notice, ASN reference, or abuse email reference does not by itself prove that a reported domain or website is hosted on MangoHost infrastructure.

9. Preservation and Legal Requests

MangoHost does not accept preservation, disclosure, or evidence-retention requests from private third parties outside formal legal procedures.

Any preservation request, disclosure request, subpoena, court order, or legally binding request must be submitted through the appropriate legal channels and must be applicable in the relevant jurisdiction.

10. What to Include in a Valid Report

To help us review your report efficiently, please include:

  • the reported domain or URL;
  • the origin IP address assigned to MangoHost infrastructure;
  • a concise description of the alleged abuse;
  • specific evidence relevant to the abuse type;
  • your contact details and authority to act, where applicable.

Reports that do not include origin infrastructure data may not be processed.

11. No Waiver of Rights

Receipt of a notice, acknowledgment of an email, or internal review of a complaint does not constitute:

  • confirmation of a hosting relationship;
  • confirmation of a customer relationship;
  • admission of unlawful activity;
  • acceptance of an obligation to investigate beyond the information provided;
  • acceptance of preservation or disclosure obligations to private parties.
